I’m pleased to learn that my book, Girl, Wanted: The Chase for Sarah Pender (Penguin/Berkley, 2011) is one of five true crime books in the running for an Edgar. I was greeted with this news via a few congrats from my NY publishing pals and among the first things I wondered was: What the Hell is an Edgar?
It is apparently an award handed out by the Mystery Writers of America, deemed as “the most prestigious award in the genre.”
Cool. Here’s a list of all of the nominees. I’m honored that someone was thinking about my book other than me. Writing and publishing is so solitary that it’s easy to think that no one cares and just keep moving. This is a kind piece of validation.
